Allison is the Director of Therapy at the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC). They first joined WASAC in 2018 as a social work practicum student and have since served in several roles, including hotline advocate, outreach advocate, and Adult Therapist beginning in 2020. Their experiences in these roles have shaped their understanding of the many ways survivors seek support and the importance of creating spaces where people feel heard, respected, and believed.
Allison earned both their bachelor's and master's degrees in Social Work from Wichita State University. They use a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of perspectives including somatic approaches, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, attachment theory, mindful self-compassion, and inner child work.
They believe it is an honor to walk alongside survivors as they navigate healing, growth, and reconnection with themselves. Allison is committed to providing trauma-informed care that recognizes each person's experiences, strengths, and needs.
Outside of work, they enjoy traveling, taking walks, trying new creative hobbies, and reading a good book.
