WASAC Volunteer Advocate Program

Victim Advocate

The Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) is committed to providing essential services to survivors of sexual assault, promoting awareness in the community, and offering advocacy and support. Volunteers play a crucial role in helping us achieve these goals. Volunteers must be 18 or older and agree to complete background checks and fingerprinting.

Front Desk/Reception:
Provide a welcoming presence for clients and visitors by providing information, answering phones, and supporting daily office operations. Volunteers help create a positive, supportive environment while maintaining confidentiality and assisting with administrative tasks as needed.

Assisting with Community Events or Booths:
Support WASAC’s outreach efforts by helping staff informational booths at community events, distributing educational materials, and engaging with the public about available services and resources. Volunteers play an important role in raising awareness of sexual assault prevention and promoting WASAC’s mission within the community.

All volunteers will receive comprehensive training to equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties effectively.
